ShadowTrac was designed to help local Migrant Education Projects more accurately track the
movement, residency, and educational placement of migrant students.
ShadowTrac is equally applicable to other types of educational programs, or even used
for generic student tracking.
Because the Federal Government requires an accurate accounting of educational services provided to migrant, or other students receiving federally funded services, ShadowTrac tracks these services at a local level. It is not intended to replace existing systems but rather augment the data retrieval process to ensure local educational projects have up to date and accurate information easily available.
In the past, Migrant Education projects have had to rely on MSRTS, NGS, or state level reporting processes. This has caused the retrieval of local information to be a timely and inaccurate process. ShadowTrac was designed to change that, making it possible for projects to manage and track their students at the local level. It gives the project the ability to instantly determine how many, and where their students are.
